Hello boys and girls!!!
How are u ? Skimming over my week-end , which was really boring ( thank u Gunta & Sanita for your good company :)....I'm ok...
Finally on Monday I started my first day of working at Baraka FM...yes, I woke up at 5:30 in the morning, I arrived there at 7:30 and I waited unitl 9:30 but I really enjoyed...!
Actually, I didn't anything of special but I was in the recording studio with the presenter, a nice girl called Nzula....! At 10 o'clock I had a surprise, for the first time I went on the air, reading an article about sports :)...! Then Nzula explained me a lot of things about the radio station and also, about her life, her projects in Tanzania and her application for an international exchange in Belgium ( so fingers across for her)...we talked about music, especially about my favourite artist , Eminem, and she dedicated to me “Love the way you Lie”, the wonderful song performed by Eminem and Rihanna.
Baraka FM is a local radio station which covers several fields from business to sport, from health matters to economy. For example, Nzula is now really focused on a campaign of HIV awareness because, you know, here this is a current issue, which needs particular attention. They are also really interested in the promotion of new music talents like Kidun or Niota. In addition Diana, who is my tutor at the radio, explained me how to use the recorder and a program to edit videos for inserts.
During this week, especially on Wednesday, we were really busy because of the arrival of a Chinese ship, the biggest floating hospital ever existed , which will provide kenyan patients with free medical assistance until next Monday, when it will proceed to Tanzania for the same mission. I don't know if you have heard something about this event but it was really a big one here in Mombasa despite many people resulted to be quite disappointed with the corruption of some local doctors, who are cooperating with Chinese ones.
This was actually my first week of working placement here in Mombasa but I want let u know something else so you can forgive me for the long absence....just a second and then I will give you some more info about African lifestyle...!
For the moment, thank you very much for your attention, your partecipation...and for your support, as well..!
Lots of love
Rosa
I must dedicate also a song performed by Eminem "I'm not afraid".You are doing something great, please don't stop.Good luck!!!
